Paradise Lost

Boarding the bus to Bangkok made my heart sink like a stone. I didn't want to leave my beach paradise, or my friends remaining there. We ended up spending 9 days there, the longest we have stayed anywhere, and we made suitably strong ties to the place and our friends there. The Germans headed to Vietnam, to meet up with friends of theirs, after delaying their departure twice. The English Boys are staying put, and that really made it tough to go. I mean, we went crab racing together! We watched football (soccer, it was a mostly European crowd) together! They gave me a nickname! We shared buckets! Bonds like that are in place forever! Plus, the perfect beach and fun nights out made it feel like the best holiday spot to relax and have fun. Sure, we did very little to improve our minds or well being, but we needed to have a good time with good people. Now Bangkok by comparison seems intense and lonely, prowling for us to empty our wallets.
Australia is on the way... less than one week. Some Aussies were in our minivan to Bangkok, placing bets on when we would get in. They crack me up, there is something so charming and endearing about them, and whatever, it is more than just the accent. Glad that I get 3 months of that! Internet is closing, gotta go!
