Three days in Hong Kong was only enough to give me a taste of all the things it has to offer. It is truly a city of so many layers, from the movement if urban life, and it blending with Asian tradition and culture, to the beauty of the island and the quirky spirit of the people. They are so unabashedly Hong Kongish. I will work on defining that in the novel version of my life.
I got in to Hanoi today, it is so different from the ordered chaos of Hong Kong. It is just pure chaos, living and breathing, vibrant streets full of shops and motorbikes and people and animals. I am utterly shocked I am able to cross the streets without being killed. It seems impossible to get your bearings but so easy to just move with the flow of the city, eventually you will discover your way. Today, I met up with Jenn, who was understandably feeling overwhelmed. I was feeling that in Hong Kong, so starting off with this madness must just be madness. She'll pull through it really quickly, I know. Today we will just take it easy and orient ourselves, have a beer and make our plans for tomorrow.
