Reading my Bruises Like Tea Leaves
My maladies tell the story of all of our travels: blisters from walking in the rain in Hong Kong, bruises from a Halong bay kayaking incident, scrapes from the Vang Vieng tubing bar mud pit, and bug bites from everywhere. Today we went for a inter tube cave tour, it was pretty cool and I have never done anything like that before. We then kayaked down the river we've been tubing on, in the pouring rain and in the sunshine (got a new scrape on my foot from flipping our kayak). We stopped by one of the tubing bars that we had frequented the few days before, and a girl there had dislocated her arm on the slide that both Jenn and I had gone on. Like I said before, there is no safety guaranteed in this country, we had heard that people have been known to die at another bar with a more risky jump. I am just glad that Jenn and I have the good sense to avoid that trouble and still manage to have fun. Tomorrow, we will probably head to Luang Prabang, with the pact to absorb culture and not party or be injured. We got plenty of the reverse here in Vang Veing.
